West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries'

Schoolswork

Young people spend a majority of their time in schools so we want to be in schools with them. Whether it is sharing a lesson with them, leading an assembly or running a lunchtime Christian Union – we love being able to reach even more young people through this work. We are also able to work with many young people providing one-to-one and group support work helping them to adapt and adjust to the ever changing world they are in.

We work in Comberton Village College, Comberton Sixth Form College and Cambourne Village College, as well as some work in several primary schools. Click on the schools below to find out more.

Primary Schools

WCCYM youth workers work mainly with secondary school age students but also link with local primary school age students, particularly to help with the transition to secondary school. This may involve assemblies and lessons at the end of Yr 6 to prepare for going into Yr 7. Some of the churches give out the Scripture Union ‘It’s your move’ booklets about transition, and youth workers will often be involved in delivering the lessons that accompany this.
