Welcome to WCCYM
|
Welcome to WCCYM's wonderful website. We've been working with young
people in villages west of Cambridge since 1992. There's loads going on
socials, discipleship groups, sport, music, youth club, residentials,
social action ... work in schools, churches and the community. We
believe Jesus is good news, and we're passionate about sharing that
good news with people. Explore this site for more information about us
and how you could be involved. If you can't find what you're looking
for then contact us. Enjoy!

Thirst, the first WCCYM event of the new year is happening THIS Sunday. For a little change, we're going to Cambourne Church.
We're meeting at 7pm, and going to focus mostly on worship and prayer for the first hour.
Then stick around from 8pm till 9pm if you want to get involved with coming up with ideas for future WCCYM events. So that's the time to share your creative thoughts and have your say (much more interesting than having the leaders making all the decisions).
If you want to just come either for the worship/prayer bit, OR for the planning/ideas bit, then go for it. Don't feel you have to come for the whole thing.
And of course, the lovely Sheila Garnham will be providing some brilliant refreshments as usual!
Hope to see you there!

Hi!
Hope you're all having a great summer!
We'll be kicking off again with various events and groups in the next few weeks, but just wanted to let you know about something that a few of us are doing this year.
Soul Survivor are encouraging people to attempt to read the Bible in one year, and a group of WCCYM-ites (including myself) are gonna try it!
There are readings to do each day (from both New & Old Testament), and there is a Bible that has been printed with these set out easily with the dates starting from 1st September. Or you could follow along in your own Bibles, also reading those passages. There is a wesbite/blog with thoughts on the passages each day. The link is... http://thebibleinoneyear.wordpress.com/
I'm ordering some paperback Bibles (for £7) so please let me know if you'd like one:
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
or 07538 853609. While we wait for them to arrive, I'll put the passages on here (see below).
There is a Facebook group I've set up for this, for those who want to keep contact and encourage each other in that way. I'll also try and organise a little get-together once a month to chat about some of the stuff we've been reading. But I'll let you know details of this once I've sorted it! Keep an eye on here and on the Facebook group for that.
Readings for the first 10 days..
Sept 1: Gen 1:1 – 2:17, Matt 1:1-25, Psalm 1:1-6
Sept 2: Gen 2:18 – 4:16, Matt 2: 1-18, Psalm 2:1-12 Sept 3: Gen 4:17 – 6:22, Matt 2:19 – 3:17, Psalm 3:1-8 Sept 4: Gen 7:1 – 9:17, Matt 4:1-22, Proverbs 1:1-7 Sept 5: Gen 9:18 – 11:9, Matt 4:23 – 5:20, Psalm 4:1-8 Sept 6: Gen 11:10 – 13:18, Matt 5:21 – 42, Psalm 5:1-12 Sept 7: Gen 14:1 – 16:16, Matt 5:43 – 6:24, Psalm 6:1-10 Sept 8: Gen 17:1 – 18:33, Matt 6:25 – 7:23, Proverbs 1:8 – 19 Sept 9: Gen 19:1 – 20:18, Matt 7:24 – 8:22, Psalm 7:1-9 Sept 10: Gen 21:1 – 23:20, Matt 8:23 – 9:13, Psalm 7:10 - 17
